Architectural Harp

This was my first venture into Luthiery, or the art of constructing and repairing stringed instruments. The sculptural instrument combines my love for musical performance with my love for architectural design. The curve of the strings is to allow them to be more easily played with a bow. This piece taught me the significant amount of research and knowledge needed to build a functional instrument, because the tension of the strings was too great for the base, and it snapped. Although the image of the imstrument was preserved, the sound will never be heard.
